There is no substitute for education as a driver for progress and development. Supporting education, therefore, can be seen as an investment in human capital, a down-payment on future growth.
JCBF generates resources to fund scholarship programs to youth and students for academic and non-academic programs. It also supports other learning events, like workshops, seminars and lectures for microentrepreneurs and local government units.
Robin Lim Seminar on Maternal Health
In January 2014, Ms. Robin Lim, CNN Global Hero of the Year for 2012, spoke in a seminar organized by the Foundation and the University of Makati’s Center for Nursing. In the three-hour seminar, Ms. Lim spoke about her experiences in transforming Indonesia’s maternal health care system with innovative practices, and enjoined the participants to work together to improve maternal and childcare systems in the Philippines.
